YEALM U3A

The University of the Third Age is a self-help educational movement for people no longer in full-time employment.  It offers shared learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups.  No qualifications are required and none are given.

ART APPRECIATION

The aims of the group are to :-

  • ·        Get more depth of understanding about art
  • ·        Develop a broader interest
  • ·        Learn more about artists and paintings
  • ·        Understand symbolism in paintings

Activities of the group will include visits to Art Galleries, Sculpture Gardens, and Artists’ Studios with a guide when possible; presentations by experts; background research on selected paintings and artists by the group members for presentation to the group.

Meetings will be held monthly usually at the Yealm Yacht Club.  Members pay £1 per meeting to cover the cost of hiring the room, equipment etc..  There is usually a talk or DVD followed by discussion.
