FRENCH CONVERSATION
The aims of the group will be to develop skills and confidence in speaking French, within a friendly atmosphere. There is a wide range of ability but, with the help of a few of the more fluent members in the group, everyone should be able to improve and remember vocabulary that is locked up in the brain somewhere!
The group meets at a member’s house on Wednesday evenings (7.00 to 8.30 pm) on alternate weeks. So far the ‘conversations’ have ranged over topics such as food, holiday destinations, famous people, and the French Elections with the odd quiz , puzzle or game thrown in, so the vocabulary is wide ranging. Tenses are sometimes confused but everyone is working on that. Confidence in speaking seems to grow after a glass of wine – a pleasant way to spend an evening.
Check dates of meetings on local U3A website calendar .
