U3A Photography Workshops
Introduction
The Photography Workshops are well attended by an enthusiastic mixed ability group of photographers. It is not a passive learning group as we all contribute in the spirit of the U3A.
The majority of us use ‘Photoshop’ software for editing digital files and we all use digital cameras. Some members have compact cameras and some professional SLRs. I would like to emphasis it is not the equipment that is important but getting the best you can from what we have. It is ‘seeing’ what makes a picture and how to produce it.
Meetings
We meet fortnightly during winter, spring and autumn and there are no formal meetings June, July and August, but members do go out on field trips to take pictures. We normally meet at the YYC. We occasionally have outside speakers.
Courses
May I draw your attention to the excellent formal classes run in the village. Any potential members who feel they have insufficient confidence to join the U3A may benefit from attending a more formal class in the first instance.
Aims
We encourage our members to be ambitious. Some have joined the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), one member has gained a distinction since joining U3A and others are also working towards Licentiateship (LRPS).
