YEALM U3A

The University of the Third Age is a self-help educational movement for people no longer in full-time employment.  It offers shared learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups.  No qualifications are required and none are given.

NOTICE BOARD

WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?

The Yealm U3A welcomes anyone who is retired or semi-retired.  We offer the chance of learning through leisure, for pleasure.

There is a wide variety of interest groups to join – cultural, mental, physical and social.  Come along if you have an interest or expertise you would like to share or if you want to learn something new.  Go to as many groups as you like or can fit in.

There are no taught courses, no homework, no exams.  Learning is informal.  You can join at any stage.  It is about co-operative learning: we all join in and contribute something.  Groups operate on a self-help basis.

Members decide what they want to study, what they want to do, where they would like to visit, etc.  We meet like-minded people to share our interests and hobbies.  Each group makes its own arrangements about how often they meet and attendance is flexible – come when you feel like it.  Most groups meet in the daytime.

Do you have an interest that you always wanted to pursue but never got round to?  Now is your chance.  Try the U3A.  Membership is only £10 p.a.
