March Parish Council Meeting 2024 - Police updates
Scams
There were two reports of Scams which, come in so many forms. Residents are reminded to visit Action Fraud where information on current scams can be explored.
Marine theft
A report of damage to a motor vessel whereby it is suspected that persons unknown have tried to remove / steal the outboard.
Operation Harbourgate
Operation Harbourgate runs from May until Sept whereby we aim to have a DCP RIB X 2 on the water during the summer period. The
Yealm has always been a significant attraction for the Plymouth illegal netters / poachers, who we know who also engaged in marine crime. We would therefore ask any resident who sees a small boat being launched / on the river that they suspect to be involved in illegal netting to immediately call 999 and thereafter the EA on 0800 80 70 60. Illegal netting in the Yealm is a criminal offence under the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act and something that the Police can, in the first instance, deal with.
