Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible to act on the Council’s behalf with matters relating to Finance, Budgeting and the Precept. The Committee will review policies and procedures, financial control  and any other such matters as may from time to time be referred by the Council.

The Accounts Inspection Working Group will carry out quarterly inspections of the accounts.

Planning Committee

The Planning Committee is responsible to recommend the response for any Planning Applications to the Full Council on the Council’s behalf with matters of relating to planning. As a statutory consultee as part of the planning process, the Full Parish Council considers planning applications within or affecting the parish.  All comments and requests are sent to South Hams District Council Planning as the Local Planning Authority for their final decision.

Roads and Highways Committee

The Roads and Highways Committee (R&HC) is responsible for those matters referred to it by the Council relating to roads, adjoining footways, trees and hedges on adjacent to highways, general traffic problems, street furniture and maintenance of these areas.

Environment Committee

The Environment Committee (EC) is responsible for identifying areas where we can reduce and reverse the negative effects of climate change and our shared degraded environment.

Pavilion

Amenities Committee

The Amenities Committee is responsible for the assets owned and maintained by the Parish Council such as the pavilion, play parks, benches, noticeboards, village greens, kayak racks, bike racks and benches.

Community Engagement Committee

The Amenities Committee is responsible for communicating the work of the Parish Council and for community consultation to hear the views of parishioners.
