The Parish of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo has developed an Emergency Plan as a foundation to assist the Community Response Team to respond to any emergency that may arise. It is most unlikely that the detail of any emergency can be predicted and therefore the plan is designed to offer a menu of ideas and resources to be called upon as circumstances dictate. The Newton and Noss Community Response Team (NNCRT) has been formed to develop this plan and to coordinate its activation as required including working with the emergency services when they are involved.

Snow and Ice
The Parish Snow Warden will grit a number of roads in the villages during severe weather only.
There are several grit bins around the Parish, which parishioners may use, however these are for use on the roads only.
For contacts and details of what is gritted and when please refer to the Emergency Plan, section G / page 27
Parts of our villages can be subject to some flooding and it is advisable to have a supply of sandbags. The Parish Council does not have its own supplies of sand bags but these can be sourced from local builder’s merchants.
